Fiction
I've wanted to write fiction since I was six years old. In practice, I find that life often gets in the way. Here are some of my short stories:
- An Extraordinary Routine, which won the Aurora Literary Prize in 2022. Why would an old man get up early to watch a webcam from halfway across the world every day? You'll have to read it to find out.
- Have You Considered Returning to the Office?, which won the Letter Review Prize in 2024. This was driven by my anxiety around a) the state of the NHS and b) AI.
- Birdie, a short story I wrote in 2023 about a heavily pregnant woman whose sister happens to be a popstar.
